The Obamas have been on a roll since they left the White House. First, were the book deals (Barack, still waiting on yours.), then the partnership with Netflix, and now Spotify. They’re partnering with Spotify through their production company, Higher Grounds, that recently added audio to its repertoire. The Obamas stated that they started their production company to add new and diverse voices to the entertainment industry.
Barack Obama future elaborated on the new venture by saying:
“We’ve always believed in the value of entertaining, thought-provoking conversation,” President Obama said in a statement provided by Spotify. “It helps us build connections with each other and open ourselves up to new ideas. We’re excited about Higher Ground Audio because podcasts offer an extraordinary opportunity to foster productive dialogue, make people smile and make people think, and, hopefully, bring us all a little closer together.”
Michelle Obama added, “We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to amplify voices that are too often ignored or silenced altogether, and through Spotify, we can share those stories with the world. Our hope is that through compelling, inspirational storytelling, Higher Ground Audio will not only produce engaging podcasts, but help people connect emotionally and open up their minds — and their hearts.”(SF Gate)
Well, Diva Chronicles is certainly excited and will be waiting (not so) patiently to see what comes into fruition. If we were to offer educated guess, the podcasts will cover life, kids, culture, showcase up and coming talent across industries and the arts and a dash of their time in the White House. They may be done talking about it, but they know we are not done listening.
Congratulations to Barack and Michelle Obama!
